Yes, it’s true–a theology professor from the Southern Baptist Convention has cut a rap cd.  Life is strange, isn’t it?

Here’s the track listing:
The Sweetness of Sadness
All Creation Groans
All Undone
From Here
God this Joy
He’s Soaring Above
Love to Write
The Things Beyond
Where the Winters Cold

This cd, “Keep Your Eyes on Forever,” was recorded in July 2004.  I flew to Atlanta to record it with an established hip-hop producer who had worked in Outkast’s studio.  Since then, I’ve rapped at various youth events, freestyled with some Chicago rappers, and spoken about the power of hip-hop at conferences.

Since this cd took the rap world by storm, my rap career has enjoyed a formal eight-year hiatus.  That could, however, be changing in 2013.  We’ll see what comes.
